Discover Your Inner Artist through Graphics and Comics
Ever ask yourself, “Who am I? Why am I here?” Much of creating art has to do with knowing yourself as an artist – cultivating your voice, finding a medium you enjoy, and having something important to say through your art. This is the class to ask those tough questions and find yourself in the process! In this class, students will explore their individual style and approach art as a way to discover their inner voice as artists. Students will use personal sketchbooks to illustrate parts of their lives using graphic drawings and words. Examples from graphic novels and comic books will serve as the source of inspiration for this exploration. Art and literature concepts such as line, shading, space, metaphor, imagery, and juxtaposition will be introduced. Bring your amazing self and let’s get to work!
